Political Support

Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman publicly welcomed the WJC and expressed their support for the expansion of the jewelry industry in southern Nevada during the JCK Jewelry Show in Las Vegas in 2007. Also, Mayor Goodman praised the WJC as an important vehicle for adding variety to the city's business environment. Goodman has long advocated such diversification. He pledged his complete support for the WJC and said the glamour and excitement of Las Vegas makes it the perfect fit for the jewelry industry.

"This project will attract even more affluent visitors and business people to downtown. It will generate hundreds of good, year-round jobs and provide another attractive place downtown for people to work, shop and visit. We look forward to working with Probity International to make it happen."
